The Eclipse is Coming but so is Camp Tasty

Another reminder for all of you fence-sitters for Camp Tasty! I know it’s a busy month, this is my last missive before hitting the road for Oregon Eclipse and the Burn is right after for some of you, but hopefully you can find a few minutes to register. We’re trying to lock down this year’s inimitable Tasty schwag and also to finalize food count for the caterers.

That being said, we know some of you can’t make a decision till closer to the time. Let us know as soon as you can, it’s more important that you come than anything. We’ll make sure you’re taken care of regardless, up to the last minute. But even if you can give us an idea, that will help.

All the details here.

Teepee Themes!
Interested in creating a theme teepee for the big Saturday night crawl? Submit your application here and we’ll give you a $50 grant to get it jumpstarted.

In need of a ride or can you give one? Please fill out the carpool google doc if you have room in your car or if you need a ride.

Start Hunting for Strange Brews
This year we’ll be doing a strange brew/booze tasting Friday night. Bring something hard-to-find, possibly hard-to-drink or just something most everyone hasn’t ever tried. Sour kombucha, Chinese baiju, Mexican sotol, bizarre beer, or a $1000 bottle of wine! Anything folks haven’t seen much of will do!

Items to Borrow
We’d love to borrow the following items, if you have them:

  • lights- to decorate your tent, walkway or camp area.
  • extension cords- for lighting and tunes.

Please don’t forget to put your name on these items!

Camp Tasty 2017

Calling all campers, calling all campers. Camp Tasty is back again!

After a stellar inaugural debut in 2016, we’ve decided to do it again. We’ll be at the one-of-a-kind Black Oak Ranch once again, this time with more water, more music, and more fun guaranteed.

This year we’ve got lots to celebrate, from two Tasty weddings and a few Tasty tots along the way, so we’ve got a special one planned, including:

  • Amazing dance parties
  • The first-ever Tasty Teepee Crawl
  • Swimming holes (this year they say yes!)
  • Late night eats from the Bamboo Lantern
  • Campfire smores
  • Strange booze tastings
  • Catered meals
  • Bear car!
  • Karaoke jams
  • Movie night
  • Bloody mary bar
  • Pub trivia with Quizmeister JB
  • Listening parties
  • and much, much more with the best community in all the land.

Let’s get our annual celebration started right with our patented recipe of beats, eats and all y’all amazing peeps.

We have gotten off to a later than usual start so please RSVP and send in your payment asap, as it will help us manage preparations and planning. First to RSVP will get priority choice of accommodations and big thanks!

You and any of your kids, friends and family that will feel the Tasty vibe. Let’s keep it to 2 degrees of separation and friends of yours who can step in and rock it from day one.

It’s located on a creek with swimming holes, 18 tipis for you to stay in, organic gardens, a full kitchen, outdoor dining area, hiking trails, flush toilets, showers, and a labyrinth.

Check out Black Oak Ranch website ->

$190 for adults 18+
$110 for kids 6 and up
Kids 5 and under are free!

What is included: Meals, lodging, fun. Everything except alcohol (but we’ll handle mixers).
Want to be a Super Tasty and have a little $ to spare? Donate above and beyond! Tasty had some unforeseen expenses in 2016 so anything you could do above and beyond would be great!

If these costs are prohibitive to you coming, let us know and let’s make something work.

These things don’t come together without all of your creativity and efforts. We ask that everyone find some way to contribute time and energy to Camp Tasty, as this is the only way to create a true community event. You’ll find ways to participate on the registration form.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Tasty Teepee Crawl. Think up a killer theme for a teepee, pimp it out, and show if off Saturday night! We’ll even give you a $50 grant to get started. Register here:
